In the first inning of Game 1 of the 2013 National League championship series, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Joe Kelly hit Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez with a 95-mph fastball, fracturing Ramirez's rib. Ramirez wasn't the same from then on. The series had turned before it could even open its eyes and inhale its first breath.
