Ross Stripling will face the Padres on Friday night at 7:10 p.m. PT in the series opener. He'll be opposed by Clayton Richard. Stripling shut down the potent Nationals on May 19, striking out nine in six strong innings. He tossed four scoreless innings against San Diego in Monterrey, Mexico, on May 6. Cody Bellinger is expected back in the lineup after sitting Wednesday night. Bellinger is in a 2-for-26 slump.
